A great example this weekend from two Brits at UFC 304 about how to burst through glass ceilings….
Be so exceptional that the leadership cannot ignore you. The “Interim Heavyweight Champion of the World” Tom Aspinall KOd Blaydes 60 seconds into the first round.
Even the 🐐 Jon Jones and the boss (Dana White) have been forced to acknowledge Aspinall has to be the next contender for the “undisputed” title.
Put in the ground work (pun intended). Paddy the Baddy demonstrated this in both ways at UFC 304, submitting Green in the first round - winning the largest bonus of $200k.
Both men have shown dedication and mastery of their trade. Wildly different in personalities but both were being limited in different ways by naysayers.
Nothing worth having comes easy - and sometimes you may have to walk away. But in any meritocratic environment, the grit to stay in the fight and outclass the competition is what will separate the wheat 🌾 from the chaff.
